The site for this residence is in the bowl of an abandoned gravel pit on the tip of an island peninsula. Its major orientation invites southern sun into all the principal spaces while the slope of the abandoned pit is utilized as a berm to protect it from cold northerly winds. Its form is broken into five volumes that separate programmatic functions and minimize impact from the water.
