Linking local building forms and traditions to a modern idiom became the basis for the dialogue with our clients seeking a year-round retirement home.  The narrow site has close to 300’ of shoreline and framed easterly views to some of the finest sailing waters on the Atlantic coast.  The richness of the coastal site extends westward into the oak forest and it was of great importance to address all aspects of the building site, creating interior spaces that reference the diverse surroundings.
